Spooky Tree
Some quick directions for the tree -
The tree was an unfinished wood tree that I bought at Michael's last year. I removed the tree from the base and painted both pieces brown. Then I traced the tree onto a lightly patterned piece of Basic Grey. I cut it out, then sanded the edges. Then I inked the tree around the edges to give it some shadows. I added some "grass" to the base with a stipple brush and some green paint. The leaves were made with a punch and some left over pieces of pattern paper. The spiders are actually confetti spiders. The pumpkin was given to me by a good friend and I believe came from a pack of Making Memories sheer embelishments. OK I think that's it. Have fun! :) :) :) :)

Logan's Hat
I finished this on Sunday morning. This is my first finished knit project. I started with a scarf, but it's still WIP. I wanted a break from the scarf, so I started this. I really like knitting on circular needles. Logan totally loves his hat. He picked the yarn himself. He kept asking me when it would be done. LOL

Life is good
School is going well for everyone here. I'm loving teaching my new and old students. Brenden has gotten lots of praise from his teacher and Logan is well loved. I started knitting and I am having a great time with it. I found a great little knitting store and tons of great patterns online. Chris and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary today. I can't believe it's been ten years already. Ten years and two wonderful boys. Plus tomorrow I will be cropping with my best buds at Archivers. We have plans to get together with some good friends over the weekend. I have to say that life is good.

Happy Family
Last night I got to scrapbook a bit while the guys played Wii. They really get into it. LOL While I am not much of a video game person, I have to admit that I really like the Wii. I like the idea of moving while you play. Granted most people tend to move while they play even when it isn't necessary. LOL

Lately
As I was doing some cleaning out I realized that I had all these pictures that I kept carrying with me to crop after crop, but never actually scrapped them. So I decided to scrap them. I couldn't really figure out why I kept passing them over. Then it occured to me that I needed to write the story first. So on Sunday while Chris was working on the basement (more on that later) I started to write. Truth be told I really do love to write. Not the obvious, but the real story. The things you really wouldn't know just by looking at the picture. Well ever since I took the time to do that I have been scrapping super fast. If you've been scrapping with me you know that fast is not the norm. I think I am going to try scrapping like this for a while and see how it goes. As for the basement, well that is a whole other story for another day.

Right now ......
We just got back from our annual trip to the beach. We are starting our birthday celebrations that will last for the next 3 months. We are working on getting ready for Kindergarten. The boys are in swim class. Soccer season will be starting soon. My house is a total mess. LOL I am working on a new class for August. Oh and I agreed to take on 3 more dance classes this coming school year. I think that's all. I will post lots of pics soon. TTFN

These are a few of my favorite things.
It looks like a mess, but really it's a pile of all of my favorite things to scrap with. Thickers, ghost shapes, word sickers, bling ...... you get the point. Some how I managed to get four pages done last week, despite a full rehearsal schedule and three performances. I'm really not sure how I did it considering I am a notoriously slow scrapper. Anyway dropped them off at Scrap Chic on Saturday, so I'll post pictures later on this week. Well I better go clean up my desk now, so that i can start all over again.

What's your style?
Now don't call the Scrapbook Police on me, but for a while I was really getting bored with scrapbooking. (I'll wait a moment for you to recover.) I just felt like my pages were all kind of the same. I use 2 or 3 pieces of patterned paper, 3 or 5 embellishments, a title and some journaling. It all just felt blah. I would see all these pages that were a wonderful hodge podge of stuff and think "Why don't I do that?". I tried a few times, but just didn't like it. Don't get me wrong, I like it just fine when other people do it, just not when it do it. Well like I said, I was bored. So for a while I just didn't scrapbook unless I was hanging out with my friends or I had a DT assignment. Even then I didn't do much. Then one day a few weeks ago I was going through my books and reorganizing. Right then I realized that's my style. I am clean lines with a few embellies. That's it. Even when I use of embellies or a lot of patterned paper, I put them into a definite pattern or shape. You know what? That's ok because that is what I like. I started scrapbooking again and embraced what I now know is my style. I'll still try new things and maybe over time my style will evolve into something else. But for right now I am clean lines with a few embellies and that's ok.

Mom With A Cam
I am officially now a mom with a cam as my friend Shannen likes to call us. Anyway I have to say that the XTi really does take better pictures even if all you ever use is full automatic. Although I have ventured out and am now learning how to use those manual settings. Anway I finally had a day off the Saturday before last, so we went to the Zoo. The kids had an absolute blast, plus I got some really great photos. In the next few weeks Brenden and I will be making a Zoo book that we can read to Logan. The shot on this page is probably one of my absolute favorites right now. I'll be sending it off to Scrap Chic later this week, so I wanted to share it before I did. Gotta go now, I have rehearsal for Sleeping Beauty in a couple of hours.

Last Season
It's the start of a new soccer season and the kids were so excited to get back to the field. Chris is the coach again and all of last years team came back to play again. Plus we have 3 new faces. The kids are having a bast. This season their uniforms are light blue, so I guess we won't be lightning bees again. I'm sure the kids have will plenty of ideas for a new team name. Can't wait to hear them.
